Why Make Things More Complicated?

Why do we always seem to look for a more complicated way of doing things? Take your health for example; nearly everyday there?s a new product or book that is going to make a big difference to our health and we fall for it! The more complicated the better, if its complicated it has to just has to work!

Yeah, right! For example we all know that if you eat more and exercise less you?re going to put on weight.. It?s a simple fact so if you just cut back on the nachos, exercise more and hey presto the weight starts to fall off.

Take your general health as an example we?re always looking for more energy, we look for this product to give us a boost and that energy bar but why look for the complicated ways again and just improve your breathing technique, break it down to the basics if you took more oxygen in, with every breath do you think it would make a difference? Of course it would, what we?re doing every day is the equivalent of driving around with the handbrake on, we?re using more energy (by using poor breathing technique) and getting less back, but what if you turned it around? Imagine the difference of breathing in more oxygen with less exertion, think of the stockpile of energy that can now be used in other activities. Some people are walking around today and only using a third of their lung capacity, (so they have to breathe in 3 times as much as someone who takes in 100% every time) can you imagine how their bodies suffering because of this and not performing to its best.

So before you go looking for complicated way to improve your health and energy. If we all just worked on the basics first before moving on we may just find that the less complicated ways sometimes are the best!

Visit http://www.scienceofbreath.be today we promise not to make things complicated, claim your FREE 13 page report packed with all the best and easiest breathing excercises and start to improve your breathing technique today!

Help is Here for Employers Wanting Their Workforce to Stop Smoking

According to a recent report from the Associated Press, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimate $92 billion in lost wages annually in the United States from smokers who die prematurely. The article also states the economic cost of smoking includes $75.5 billion per year in direct health care costs.

Several employers are desperately trying to help their workers break the smoking habit, not just for their health care costs but also for the general well being of their employees, long after they have left the company. Even ABC?s popular Boston Legal aired an episode recently about an employer trying to assert authority over an employee to stop smoking in an effort to lower health costs.

Some companies have found the services of breakthrough smoke cessation programs. The approach has helped thousands in Europe rid the smoking habit and has seen early success in its infancy in New York.

Rick Tejpaul spearheads one such program. He states,?Health costs and lost wages, along with productivity have recently been under the microscope due to smoking habits of the American workforce.? He continues, ?In the last few weeks we have been called by quite a few companies asking us to come in and help their workforce with the process of quitting smoking.?

There are companies that are contemplating increasing the premiums for their smoking workers. Most do not want to get to this point. Decision makers within corporate are willing to pay for smoke cessation programs. Smoking is at an all time low in this country and individuals, corporations and the medical field are seeking support. All that is required is a motivated person who wants to quit.

Skin Care Advice At Any Age

We've become a society obsessed with our looks.

It's been noted that we spend more on beauty products in the west than we do on education.

Why are we so obsessed? Because it's easier and more affordable than ever before.Anti-aging skincare technology has progressed leaps and bounds. We know more about the skin today than we ever did. There are advanced skincare products that can erase years, and of course, the plastic surgeon has perfected his trade such that procedures are easier and cheaper than ever before.

Are we justified in our obsession?

They say that beauty is only skin deep, and while I believe this to be true it's also important to do what feels right for you. If keeping up appearances gets you through the day then, by all means, that's what you need to do, however I must add that I'm not a fan of going under the knife. With the huge advances made in skincare products today, I'd much prefer taking the less invasive route.

Here's a few age related tips and remedies that will help boost your skin's appearance at any age without needles and knives.

20 Something

Your skin is at its peak of beauty in your twenties, however nurture its beauty and always use at least an SPF 30 sunscreen. Of course this should continue at any age.

Avoid oily makeup and coverups. Use an oil free moisturizer every day. This is also a good time to begin using an eye cream under the eye area at night.

Try using products that contain green tea which have shown to help reduce the risk of skin cancer.

30 Something

Your 30's is when your skin is beginning to become a bit drier and sun damage may begin to appear. It's time to start using thicker moisturizing creams so as to lock in high contents of moisture. Continue with eye creams at night and use your sunscreen religiously. Also, skin bleaching products may need to be used to diminish dark spots from sun damage. Hint: Put your moisturizer on over damp skin. This helps lock in more moist! ure.

40 Something

It's time to kick it up another notch. Your forties is when your skin loses much of it tightness. It may begin to look dull and your pores may become larger. Blotches, freckles, age spots, discoloration, and changes in skin color may become much more visible. Retinoids, anti-oxidants and alpha hydroxy acids can improve the look of your skin and your 40's would be a good time to begin using them. Of course it's essential that you continue using a thick moisturizer and eye serums on a daily basis.

Home microdermabrasion kits are also an option that can result in a smoother more even appearing skin texture and tone while rejuvenating your skin's texture and color.

50 Something

Changes in your skin have reached high gear. Menopause has assisted in the loss of Estrogen which is what has given your skin its elasticity and kept it hydrated, however since those estrogen levels have diminished, you will begin seeing wrinkles form around your eyes, drooping eyelids and expression lines around the mouth and forehead.

Begin using anti-aging or wrinkle reducing formulas such as vitamin A (Retinol) or Glycolic acid products. Retin A has proven to reduce fine lines and wrinkles while improving skin texture, skin tone and color, as well as your skin's hydration levels.

Glycolic acid will trigger new formation of collagen to plump cells and reduce wrinkles on the skin?s surface. Postmenopausal women can also use a cream containing progesterone that may improve skin elasticity and firmness.

60 Something

By age 60 all types of collagen are significantly below their youthful levels. There are, however wonderful hydrating creams that contain Alpha Hydroxy acids (Glycolic acids), soy, green tea and retinol (vitamin A) which your skin will need now that it is drier and showing major signs of age. The alpha Hydroxy acids will help reduce droopy skin and the retinol will reduce your fine lines.

60 Plus

Your skin's texture will become vi! sibly le ss smooth and you will most likely begin to see age spots. You'll appreciate the early care you've given to your skin because the signs of aging will be minimal, however, if you haven't started early you'll clearly notice the effects of neglect.

While it's never too late to take care of your skin the damage you already have will be difficult to reduce without special medical treatments such as botox or perhaps surgical procedures. All the above should continue to be applied but it is wise to consult your physician on advanced treatments.

If you haven't yet reached 60, the best skin care advice is to follow a good skin care regimen at an early age. It's an easy habit to get into and best of all, you'll thank yourself later on.

Understanding Teen Acne

Acne is a very common condition among teens. It affects not only their physical appearance, but may also affect their self-esteem and feelings of self-worth. Many teens are often afraid to go to social events or participate in extra activities because they are afraid of how others may see them.

Acne can be caused by a variety of factors, but hormones are believed to be a leading cause of acne in teens. This can also cross over into adult acne. Hormones cause the body to produce excess oil, which in turn clogs pores and causes pimples. The good news is, acne is very treatable and by figuring out its cause, you can find a treatment.

Having acne has nothing to do with what you eat or how often you wash your face, two common myths often associated with this condition. Washing your face too much, however, can cause the skin to become dry and irritated, and may, therefore, irritate existing acne, but it does not actually cause more acne to form.

One of the best ways to combat acne is to try to prevent it. This involves finding its cause and taking measures to treat it. By doing so, you are treating existing acne, while treating the root of its cause.

Since teens often produce more oil than do adults, it is important to wash twice a day with a mild cleanser that won't irritate or dry the skin. This helps eliminate excess oil, while wiping away any unwanted dirt and bacteria. It is also important to keep the skin properly hydrated and moisturized. Oily doesn't equal moisture. Skin that is oily must be moisturized as well.

All these things can be accomplished by washing the face. The excess oil will be removed, while the face will be hydrated and moisturized. A moisturizing cream may also help to keep moisture in the skin, which will help prevent it from becoming dry and irritated.

While it is good to exfoliate, it is important that you do not use a harsh product to do so. Use a gentle formula containing small grains. These will be less harsh to your skin and! will re move dead skin without irritating the healthy skin and aggravating the acne.

Avoid products that contain substantial amounts of alcohol, as this can cause your glands to produce more oil, or dry and irritate your skin. Instead, use a gentle toner that will help even your skin.

Don't squeeze or pick at your pimples. This can only cause them to become more inflamed because the bacteria are pushed deeper into the skin.

Choose makeup products wisely. Don't use products that have cause past breakouts, and use those that are noncometigenic, meaning they won't clog your pores.

No matter the cause, it is important to find a cure. Find a regimen that works for you and stick to it. If your acne persists, consult a physician. There are medications that can help treat many forms of acne. Finding a solution will help you feel better about yourself.

How To Treat Heel Pain

If you experience a sharp pain in your heel when you first step down in the morning, it is most likely due to plantar fasciitis. Plantar fasciitis is the tearing and subsequent inflammation of the long ligament on the bottom of your foot due to overuse. This type of heel pain may also occur as achiness at the end of the day in the heel or even burning pain in the arch. Plantar fasciitis can be associated with a heel spur, but this is not the cause of the pain. When the long ligament like structure (plantar fascia) on the bottom of the foot pulls on the heel bone over a period of time, a spur is formed. Only 50% of individuals with plantar fasciitis have a bone spur in their heel. The spur will never go away, but the plantar fasciitis will. Plantar fasciitis is typically caused by a new activity, a new pair of shoes, a worn out pair of shoes or change in job. Individuals with flatfeet or abnormal motion in the feet may have a higher chance of developing plantar fasciitis. Once you develop plantar fasciitis, you will find it very difficult to treat.

1. Identify the cause: Once the cause is identified, try to stop or modify the activity.

2. Decrease aggravating activities: If you walk or run for exercise, stop. Try other activities such as swimming or biking. Avoid the stair stepper, the treadmill and the elliptical machine at the gym. Climbing up and down stairs, walking or running on hills, squatting, carrying heavy items and walking on uneven terrain all place excess stress through the feet. Decrease these activities by asking your spouse, significant other or friend for help with the kids or carrying heavy items. Avoid multiple trips up and down the stairs at work and home. Limit gardening to flatter more even terrain.

3. Trying using an ice massage: To decrease inflammation and pain in your arch, roll your foot over a frozen sports water bottle for at least 20 minutes twice a day.

4. Alternate between hot and cold: This technique is commonly used in physical therapy and is ty! pically referred to as contrast soaks, but there doesn?t really need to be any soaking. Start by icing the heel and/or arch for five minutes, then switch to a heating pad for five minutes. Alternate for about thirty minutes two to three times a day. If you can soak in ice water and then hot water, this will accomplish the same thing.

5. Stretch your calf: Before you get out of bed, wrap the towel or belt around the ball of your foot. Pull the foot towards you and keeping your leg straight. You should feel a stretch in the back of the calf. This will also stretch the bottom of the foot. Stretch your calf throughout the day with the runner's stretch and spend 5-10 minutes every evening stretching your calf.

6. Take anti-inflammatory medications: Anti-inflammatory medications will help decrease the inflammation that occurs in the fascia as a result of the stress and tearing. Make sure you don?t mask the pain. If you continue to aggravate the fascia, but decrease the pain, you may think you are better, when you are really not. Decrease your activity level and stretch and ice as much as possible during the time you are taking these medications. Take the medication with food and stop taking the medication if you experience stomach discomfort. If you have any concerns, contact your doctor.

7. Wear supportive shoes: A supportive shoe will only bend at the toes. This step may seem logical, but many individuals don't realize that their comfortable shoes lack support and may be contributing to their pain. Test your shoe by taking it, flipping it over and grabbing the toe area and the heel. Attempt to fold the shoe in half. If the shoe bends in half, then the shoe is not supportive. Don't go barefoot. See the American Podiatric Medical Association's (APMA) list of approved shoes at www.apma.org/ seal/sealaccategory.html.

8. Try a night splint: A night splint stretches out the plantar fascia when you are sleeping. Instead of 5-10 minutes of stretching throughout the day, you will be receiving six to e! ight hou rs of stretching. There are a number of night splints which can help. Soft night splints, like The Strassburg Sock?, tend to be more comfortable for patients and can be bought online. The larger and more rigid night splints tend to work very well, when patients can tolerate them. They tend to be more expensive, but if you are dispensed a night splint at your doctor?s office, they may be covered by your insurance.

9. Wear orthotics: Prefabricated orthotics are inserts that fit into the shoe to help control motion in your feet. Controlling abnormal motion in the feet can decrease the stress and help the plantar fascia heal. Soft inserts available at the drug store may be comfortable, but they will not help control abnormal motion. Make sure the orthotics you buy are rigid or stiff from the heel to the ball of the foot.

10. See a podiatrist: If your symptoms persist, make an appointment with your podiatrist. Other treatments include prescription anti-inflammatory medication, steroid injections, physical therapy, cast boots, shock wave therapy and surgery. Luckily, very few individuals need surgery.

OPC3 And Antioxidants

OPC-3?, also known as oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPC's) is made from a combination of grape seed, pine bark, red wine extracts, and also bilberry and citrus extracts.

OPC-3? is thought to be a free radical neutralizer or antioxidant. It is also thought to support the circulatory system and strengthen capillaries.

Antioxidants are a chemical compound or substance that are thought to prevent cellular damage. Organic substances such as vitamin E, vitamin C, or beta carotene, for example, are thought to protect cells from damage caused by unstable molecules known as free radicals.

Free radicals can form when oxygen interacts with certain molecules. Free radicals can be beneficial in neutralizing bacteria and viruses. But in excess, they produce harmful oxidation that can damage cells.

Antioxidants are molecules which can safely interact with free radicals to stop any damage to vital molecules.

Antioxidants, such as OPC-3?, are believed to be effective in helping to prevent cancer, heart disease, and stroke. They are also thought to play a role in slowing the aging process.

Fruits and vegetables are rich in antioxidants and their are health supplements on the market such as OPC-3? that are marketed as antioxidants.

There are conflicting reports on the benefits of antioxidants and how much to take. So in short, supplements should not be taken to replace, a healthy, well balanced diet. It should be taken to supplement it.

Ten Habits of Flawless Skin

1. Don't overdo the use of cosmeceuticals. With more and more beauty potions containing alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs), salicylic acids, antioxidants, and retinoids, mixing a cleanser from one line with a scrub or daytime moisturizer from another, then a night cream from yet another, can lead to over-exfoliation and irritation. This can add up to a real problem, especially for women with olive and darker complexions, who are more prone to discoloration when their skin is irritated.

2. Exercise. Twenty to 30 minutes of any aerobic exercise will give you a glow. Exercise increases blood flow, which brings more nutrients to the skin. But beware -- the buildup of oil and perspiration can result in sweatband acne, folliculitis, and prickly heat. The solution: Shower as soon as possible after working out.

3. Exfoliate. By mildly abrading your skin with exfoliating agents, you will remove the surface layer of dead cells. Afterward, fine lines will be less visible and your complexion will glow. A microdermabrasion cloth can do the trick. To find out more about microdermabrasion cloths check out www.youthfulskinsecrets.com

4. Check your body for spots. Any sudden or suspicious-looking bump, mole, or other growth is reason to see a dermatologist. But as skin-cancer rates rise, having a full body check by a professional is crucial -- especially for those of us in the baby-oil-and-iodine, pre-sunscreen generation. People in a high-risk group -- having a personal or family history of skin cancer, a lot of moles, fair skin, and/or light eyes or hair -- may need regular checkups starting in their teens, and probably no later than age 35, Even if you're not in a high-risk group, the American Cancer Society recommends that between the ages of 20 and 40, people have a cancer-related checkup, including a skin exam, every three to four years. Once you hit your 40s, begin having a cancer-related checkup, including a skin exam, every year.

5. Eat Healthy Foods. Antioxidants (vitamins A, C, and E) -- whi! ch help reduce sun damage and fight certain cancers, including skin cancer -- are essential to your health. A well-balanced diet filled with at least five servings a day of fruits and vegetables, plus a multivitamin that meets RDA standards.

6. Don't wear makeup to bed. We all know it, but we sometimes do it anyway. Layers of foundation, powder, and blusher left on overnight can clog pores and lead to acne or folliculitis, Take it all off before bed with a mild non-soap cleanser.

7. Handle pimples carefully. Poking, prodding, and popping can prolong a pimple's life and make the problem worse. Scarring and the spread of infection are two possible consequences. To speed up healing, cleanse your face, then apply a warm compress, such as a clean, damp washcloth. Next, dab on an over-the-counter cream or lotion containing a drying agent, such as salicylic acid, sulfur, or benzoyl peroxide.

8. Get plenty of sleep. Most of us don't get the eight to nine hours we need to avoid sleep deprivation. The effects aren't hard to detect -- namely, under-eye circles. The solution: Budget in sleep time, including a short afternoon nap whenever you can manage it

9. Drink plenty of water. Yes, drinking water does keep you hydrated, which helps skin look and feel better, Get in the standard 6 to 8 eight-ounce glasses throughout the day -- more if you're a heavy exerciser. Also, many of the new sugar substitutes are dehydrating, so drink more water if you're into low-cal liquids.

10. Use Natural Cosmeceuticals. To wisely to play it really safe, stick with one line of natural products which are formulated to work together. If you use any prescription products ask your dermatologist to advise you on how to combine prescription treatments with over-the-counter natural cosmeceutical products. Visit http://www.derma-c.com for a listing of their natural cosmeceutical product line.

Black Women's Hairstyles: It's Not Just About The Hair

Throughout the decades, the social significance of black hairstyles has remained a relevant part of black history. Unlike other American cultural trends, black hairstyles represent a significant history and pride amongst black women. Where else does one?s self worth and self image play such a high role in society? When black women enter the salon for a new hairdo, many times they must look at the ?whole picture?; considering the social message that they will be sending when walking out of the salon and into black society.

Since the 1400?s, when slaves were brought to the ?New World, they were made to change their hairstyles to more traditional European standards. This included the use of herbs and botanicals that relaxed their coarse hair, giving the appearance of finer hair. Throughout slave times, black women grown accustomed to their European counterparts wore their hair straightened, combed, and parted. Since that time, black women have often been ridiculed for their choices regarding their hair.

In modern day times, black women must choose to conform to Western society and their hairstyles or go for the more natural look. During the late sixties, the ?Afro? and more traditional ways of wearing one?s hair made a debut. The image of freedom and pride led the movement for the El Natural look. But it was just that, a trend, that came and went; and in the near future; will most likely come again. However, since that time, more black women have opted for hairstyles that are ?Americanized? and project the societal views of beautiful hair. Nothing is more evident of this trend than the huge amounts of money spent yearly on black hairstyles at various salons.

Today, a black woman may spend hundreds of dollars at a salon every week, striving to achieve that perfect hairstyle. Even in the poorest of neighborhoods, hair salons and barbershops that cater to black hair are still thriving. So are these black women abandoning their cultural history and giving into the white man?s wa! ys? Mos t black women say ?no?, it?s not a matter of history or culture, but a matter of looking good and feeling good about one?s self.

Phentermine Helps When Other Drugs Give Up

When obesity attains mammoth proportion and goes out of control, Phentermine, the weight loss drug shows rapid action and pulls it by the roots. As soon as other drugs and medical treatments give up, Phentermine arrives on the scene and compels obesity to take a hasty retreat.

Obesity is not a minor problem right now but a potential disease capable of wrecking havoc on our system. If it is neglected and kept to be solved later on, the harmful consequences would be visible within a short while. In case the BMI exceeds 30 then obesity becomes a grave threat to our system requiring special attention as is needed in the management of diseases like cancer, diabetes, arthritis, cardiovascular diseases and hypertension. In such a situation of exogenous obesity Phentermine is the only sanctuary that takes care of us in the same way a mother cares for her child.

We are bound to reflect on the tremendous escalation of obesity in the whole world. The World Health Organization reports that in countries like Egypt, Mexico, South Africa and Turkey, more than 70% people over the age of 30 are overweight. The same is the case with men, with 75% overweight people in Argentina,China,India,Kuwait and Greece.

The presence of a market flooded with a variety of drugs is making it increasingly difficult for a customer to select the best rewarding quality. He is confused and uncertain where to go, which one is promising and should be picked up? Obesity is refusing to look back, and is gaining ground slowly and gradually. On the other hand pharmaceutical companies are vying with each other and doing brisk business by incorporating illegal designs to boost up their sales. As a consequence, consumers are left utterly perplexed. While looking out for drugs to control obesity they fear that they might lay their hands on an inefficient drug which may afterwards cause devastation to their health. But thanks to Phentermine, now there is no need to be scared of unwanted results. The battle with the bulge is also g! aining m omentum, and a stiff opposition is being set up against obesity.

It is extremely likely for chain smokers to gain a very heavy amount of flab after abruptly given up smoking. This sudden increase in weight in not a good omen which is to be thwarted at any cost,by hook or by crook. But if Phentermine is by your side then why should you fear? This weight loss drug is indeed a boon for chain-smokers; they can quit smoking happily leaving behind the fear of weight gain for good. Phentermine helps by suppressing the appetite and making the consumer feel no hungry at all. Isn?t it wonderful to push hunger pangs to the back of the brain, limit your food intake and accelerate the weight loss process?

Well, looks can be taken care of and dreams can be realized by the marvel named Phentermine, a gift to mankind by medical science. But if something unexpected happens, say, your repeated weight loss attempts are not yielding results, is Phentermine to be blamed? Of course not. To get the maximum benefit from Phentermine, it should be properly used. Even while taking any other medicine instructions are to be followed strictly. Phentermine would work only if it is properly administered to the body in accordance with the instructions of a weight loss expert. It possesses side-effects like with other diet pills which can be easily avoided by adopting a little caution. Healthy eating and regular physical exercises should become a routine affair and only then phentermine success stories would be triggered off.

Colonic Irrigation

Colon Irrigation Definition: Irrigation of the colon- The use of liquid solutions given by enema to remove material from the rectum or colon, ostensibly to eliminate toxins from the bowel. Also known as colonic irrigation and high colonics.

How Colon Irrigation Treatments Are Done

Treatments are usually performed in a special clinic. At the time of treatment, the therapist will insert a small tube into your rectum. This tube is called a speculum; it?s about 51/2 inches long. The speculum is attached to a plastic hose connected to a colon irrigation machine. Then the Colon irrigation machine will put purified, warm water into the five-foot length of your colon.

The colon starts to have the muscles contract from the water. This forces the fecal matter out through an evacuation tube that leads back to the colon irrigation machine.

A total of 20 to 30 gallons of water will be flushed through your colon. It is possible to feel a warm sensation as the toxins and fecal matter leaves your body. However you should not feel any pain.

Colon Irrigation usually takes 30 to 50 minutes

Colon Irrigation Treatment Frequency: Most practitioners will advise two to eight sessions depending on the built-up fecal matter in the colon. Some practitioners say to maintain a well-functioning colon; you need treatments every 3 to 6 months.

Who Should Avoid This Therapy?

People should avoid colon irrigation if they have Crohn's disease, diverticulitis, hemorrhoids, tumors of the large intestine or rectum, or ulcerative colitis.

Important Information to Consider

Colon irrigation has been around for years and before the advent of antibiotics and other modern medicines, it was used as a popular form of therapy for everything from infections to heart disease to depression. Modern advocates of colon irrigation say it's an important way of maintaining general health and preventing illness. Opponents deny its ability to cure any sort of ailment, and warn that careless adminis! tration of the treatments can spread disease and cause serious, even life-threatening problems.

Health Exercise is Good for You

During my daily morning walk at 7.00 am, many new friends walking alongside told me about how they have cured themselves of their health problems through just brisk walking or slow jogging. To look fresh and feel your best, it is essential to stay active and keep physically fit. It is the best natural way to stay healthy other than any vitamin pills and supplements. It contributes also to good muscle tone for strength and flexibility, posture and physique and good emotional stamina and mental health.

The human body has over 600 muscles in various sizes and shapes. They are in the form of threadlike fibres in bundles. The brain sends signals to them to contract which result in muscular action. If the muscles are seldom used then they become flabby and sluggish. It is through exercise that they are stimulated and returned back to good condition.

To keep the heart fit, health authorities agree that continued physical activity suited to age and health status is the best way to keep it fit. It is contrary to the old fashioned belief about prolonged bed rest for the ailing heart. For the heart patients recuperating from heart attacks, it is important to do mild physical activity and this has been included in the care program. On the blood vessels, the fatty substances known as cholesterol can build up as deposits on the blood vessel walls. Regular exercise combined with proper diet will help keep down the fatty substances.

Tense muscles can lead to nervous breakdown or they are an indication of nervous tension. For people who are hot tempered, have a lot of anger, frustration, worry or other disturbing emotions, exercise can provide a wholesome relief for them. Try brisk walking or slow jogging (or any type of exercise suitable for you) when you are in that mood, you will realize that it will slow down and feel better after you have sweated it out.

Good posture improves physical appearance and it also creates the best positioning of the lungs, heart and visceral organs. Well-toned mu! scles ma ke it easier to sit and stand straight as well as walking with upright body, weight evenly distributed and abdominal muscles pulled in. Your back should be straight, hips pulled in, knees slightly bent and buttocks tucked under. When you combine exercise with proper nutrition and avoid overeating, it will help you reach and maintain ideal weight goals.

There are rules to follow before you commence your regular exercise. Make sure that you are healthy, have physical checkup before starting a series of regular exercise. This applies to people who are recuperating from poor health or wanting to start exercising. It is not advisable to immediately rush into it because your body may not be able to take it yet. Start exercising gradually and proceed at your own pace without overdoing it. Carry out each exercise correctly so that you stimulate your body systems safely. Wear comfortable clothing and select a convenient time (best is in the morning) and stick to it as a regular daily routine. It takes time to get back into shape and don?t expect results right away. As time passes, with repeated workouts the exercises will seem easier to do and keep your courage and don?t give up. It is like eating, we have to eat everyday.

If you have gone through a serious illness or operation, then follow your physician?s advice about the kind and amount of exercise that you should do. Stop exercising when you feel sick and consult your doctor. If you have been ill for over a week with minor illness and no fever, resume your exercise routine gradually as you feel up to it according to your physical and mental strength.

Warm-up exercises are those that help you to avoid over straining the muscles and accelerating the action of the lungs and heart too fast. Examples are sit-ups, knee push-ups, toe touching, leg raising, flutter kicking, arm circling, ankle stretching and knee bending. But if you are just going for brisk walking, then start slowly and pick up the momentum as you walk. The best is at least fifteen! minutes a day until you sweat it out or two kilometers of walk.

For the rest of the day after the morning exercise, give yourself positive feedback such as feeling good about yourself and tell yourself you are healthy. It is one huge step to develop good mental attitude to relieve stress at work or home. Reward yourself because you are entitled to it or live your life leisurely. Smiling and laughter have long been proven as important ingredients to reduce stress. A good laugh has never hurt anyone and laughter is one of the best medicines. Before long, you will be looking buff and pink (healthy) and ready to take on the world. So, don?t wait for tomorrow, start exercising today to burn away the bulge.

For facial exercise so as to have tighter and better complexion and better and stronger gum, wake up at least fifteen minutes earlier and stay in bed doing facial exercise. Move your jaws by opening and closing your mouth hard and stick your tongue in and out and move it sideways. By the time you really wake up, you can see yourself looking better and fresher. You may be able to save your teeth due to gum problems.

LASIK Eye Surgery

LASIK eye surgery is becoming more advanced and more affordable. More and more people in the United States are having LASIK and it has quickly become one of the most popular forms of vision correction. LASIK is not for everyone; before you decide to go through with LASIK surgery you should learn more about it and what it has to offer you.

As you probably already know, LASIK is Laser Assisted in Situ Keratomileusis. The LASIK procedure involves the use of an ultraviolet laser to reshape your cornea. It does this by vaporizing small amounts of the cornea?s tissue. LASIK surgery is effective in treating nearsightedness (myopia), astigmatism, and farsightedness (hyperopia).

Before undergoing LASIK eye surgery an ophthalmologist will evaluate your eyes to determine if you are a good candidate for LASIK. The eye surgeon will map out your corneas to determine how to shape them. The health of your eyes is evaluated to determine if LASIK is viable; if any problems are found it could preclude you from having LASIK surgery.

LASIK is an outpatient procedure; downtime for recovery is minimal. Most people are able to see clearly without their glasses or contacts immediately following the surgery. There are a number of side effects including problems with night vision and sensitivity to light.

You can learn more about LASIK vision correction by visiting the website LasikEssentials.com.

Nick Harper specializes in refractive eye surgery including LASIK vision correction. The website LASIK Essentials presents information on all aspects of LASIK eye surgery in an easy to read format, without technical jargon. The Liver and Its Relationship to Acne

One of the major causes of acne is hormone imbalance.

The first part of balancing your hormones is by regulating their production.

The second part to balancing your hormones is by effectively removing used up hormones from the body via the liver.

Both parts play a part in leaving too many hormones in the system that are responsible for excess skin oil production which leads to acne by clogging your pores and allowing the growth of bacteria.

In this article we will see how the liver deals with used up hormones and how you can help this process so that you don't end up with too many hormones in your system.

The liver is responsible for deactivating hormones so their levels aren't too high. This can become a demanding task considering it must also deal with other pollutants such as car fumes, heavy metals, smoke, pesticides and all the other toxic materials that find their way into your body.

The liver can become quite sluggish with all the above stresses are thrown at it. You want to provide the liver with nutrients that help stregthen it's function and help it eliminate waste and used up hormones.

There are many herbs and extracts can that help with liver function. Alot of research has been done on Milk Thistle. This extract is excellent for protecting the liver and also improves its detoxing abilities.

Studies have shown that milk thistle goes directly to the liver cells and promotes repair and regeneration.

Other beneficial herbs for the liver include: Cleavers, Nettles, Gravel Root, Golden Rod and Yellow Dock. Many companies have produces supplements that contain some of these herbs and others in combination specifically for the liver and can be purchased from any good health store.

Liver detox kits can also be beneficial if your finances allow.

Fashion Wigs Change Your Image in Seconds!

Do you want to be a blonde one day and a redhead the next? One way to do this is to dye your own hair and restyle it, but you can achieve the same effect with much less effort - just buy a wig. To select a wig that would be indistinguishable from real human hair and become your favorite fashion accessory, though, you need to know a few insider tips.

First of all, if you?re worried that a wig will not look natural on your head, never fear! A properly made wig - even the quality synthetic varieties - can look totally realistic.

Which is best - synthetic or human hair wigs?

Wigs can be synthetic or made from real human hair. Synthetic wigs are cheaper, but the very cheap ones you can find online don?t look real enough. On the other hand, high quality synthetic wigs like Revlon, Raquel Welch or Paula Young wigs look very real. Also, synthetic wigs are easier to care for, as you don?t need to restyle them every time you wash them.

Real human hair is in limited supply, so human hair wigs are much more expensive; typically they several hundred dollars. Human hair wigs look and feel very natural. However, it is important to know that the quality of your wig depends on the origin of the hair used. The cheapest hair comes from Asian countries, but their texture is different from the hair of European women. The best human hair wigs are made from European hair but, unfortunately, they cost a small fortune.

What wigs styles are available?

You can get ? wigs as well as full wigs. A full wig covers your entire head, so none of your own hair is visible. This type of wig is great when you want to try a color different from your own.

A ? wig is clipped to the top of your head. Because your original hairline is visible, the wig looks very natural. Also, your head doesn?t get ?toasted? under a wig cap. On the downside, though, three quarter wigs have to match your hair color very closely, otherwise it won?t look convincing. It is best not to buy this type of wig online because th! e colors on the color charts are usually not very accurate.

A very interesting style of wig is the headband wig. A headband wig is a full wig with a headband attached to its front. It is especially useful if you are always in a hurry, because the headband ensures that none of your own hair is visible. This style is recommended if your natural hair is a dramatically different color from the wig.

Wigs come in all shapes and styles - from very short to 30 inches long, in straight, curly, wavy, braided, layered, spiky or ?the wet look?. It is important that you look at many styles before you decide which one your heart desires.

It is a good idea to have your wigs customized, too. If you can find a hair salon that can trim your wig to make it fit your face shape, go for it. Customizing a wig isn?t cheap, of course, but it will make your new wig look more realistic and suitable for your face.

If you feel like a change, get yourself a wig. It is amazing, how much having a different hairstyle can transform a person. And for a woman it is always important to vary her image and look fresh.

How To Effectively Clean a White Tongue the Cause of Bad Breath

Have you ever noticed that sometimes you have a white tongue? A white tongue is something that nobody wants to have. Why? A white tongue not only looks abnormal, but if left untreated, it's a strong indication of a bad breath problem.

People who have a white tongue, also known as a geographic tongue, are definitely more likely to experience an abnormally colored tongue. Geographic tongue simply means a tongue that has lots of grooves and fissures in it. These grooves and fissures make an excellent breeding ground for the anaerobic bacteria that cause bad breath and a white tongue. Under certain conditions, a geographic tongue can be white, yellow, even black in color. A geographic tongue can also be coated and sometimes dry and cracked. The way around this problem is simply making sure that your tongue is kept as clean as possible. But...not all tongue cleaning is created equal.

Tongue cleaning or tongue scraping is a process that the majority of people in the United States don't do on a daily basis. Yet, it's one of the most important steps you can take to keep your breath clean and fresh!

MYTHS ABOUT CLEANING A WHITE TONGUE

MYTH #1: You have to scrape hard to clean a white tongue. This is false! You do not need to scrape your tongue so hard that it bleeds. In general, pressing harder does not remove more bacteria. You simply need to press hard enough that the tongue cleaner you're using is pressed flush across the surface of your white tongue. Try not to leave any gaps.

MYTH #2: Tongue Cleaning Alone Prevents Bad Breath. This is also false! Tongue cleaning alone does not kill the bacteria that cause bad breath that are breeding below the surface of a white tongue. It simply removes the gunk on the surface. This gunk (mucus and food debris) is a food source for anaerobic bacteria, the cause of a white tongue.

MYTH #3: You must use a complex, expensive gizmo to successfully clean your tongue. Again false! Really, all you need is a fairly rigid instrument, that you c! an easil y make flush on the surface of your white tongue and cover the largest area possible. Those electronic tongue cleaners you see can be helpful if you have arthritis, difficulty with coordination, or in general have a a tough time performing some simple actions on tongue cleaning, which I'll outline below.

Tongue cleaning is really not that difficult to do, and it's not even very time consuming. That extra minute or two you spend on your tongue per day can reap huge rewards in preventing bad breath. It'll help prevent a white tongue, return it to it's normal color, and most importantly cut down on bad breath.

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS TO SUCCESSFULLY CLEAN A WHITE TONGUE

STEP 1: Starting at the base of your tongue, place a tongue cleaner/scraper flush against your tongue's surface and make slow sweeping strokes from the back to the front. You can start at either side of your tongue and work your way across to the other side. Depending on the tongue cleaner you are using, you might need to make three to four different swaths across your white tongue.

STEP 2: Once the surface debris from your white tongue has been removed, apply a small bead of toothpaste to the head of your tongue cleaner. Make sure your toothpaste does not contain Sodium Lauryl Sulfate because this ingredient will dry out your mouth. I recommend using TheraBreath Oxygenating Toothpaste (http://www.therabreath.com/products.asp?CAT=3).

STEP 3: Gently coat the surface of your tongue (as far back as possible without gagging yourself) with the toothpaste. This allows the toothpaste to penetrate below the surface of your tongue and neutralize those sulfur-producing anaerobic bacteria. Believe it or not, there are more bacteria in the rear of your tongue than in the front!

STEP 4: Once your tongue is coated, allow the toothpaste to stay on the surface of your tongue as long as you can. Up to 90 seconds is ideal. If you begin to cough, or your gag reflex kicks in, that's okay, just spit whenever you need to.!

S TEP 5: Ideally, it's best to leave the toothpaste on the surface of your tongue, while you brush your teeth normally.

Following this routine daily gives you the most benefit possible in cleaning a white tongue. This routine will help prevent white tongue, keep your breath fresh, and give a geographic white tongue its best possible chance at maintaining the normal, healthy, pink color that everyone would like to have.

Train for Muscular Strength Not for Muscular Size

Train Muscular Strength, Muscular Power and Muscular Endurance for Functional Strength Performance... Not Muscular Size for Appearance.

Training for muscular strength, power and endurance will bring about more functional improvements than training for muscular size or appearance.

There is a big difference between training for muscle mass and training for muscular strength, power and endurance.

Each type of muscular strength must be trained for optimum performance under any circumstance.

Fitness is a compromise between the physical abilities of cardiorespiratory endurance, strength, power, speed, flexibility, balance, coordination, agility, accuracy and toughness... and muscular strength is a compromise between maximum strength, power and strength endurance.

Maximum Strength

Maximum strength is how much force can be generated by the muscles and skeletal system for one, all-out effort.

You One-Rep Max is an indicator of this type of muscular strength.

Power

Power is strength per unit of time... I like to call this Explosive Power.

This type of muscular strength is measured by the ability to move a weight from one point to another with speed... therefore it is often called Speed Strength.

Strength Endurance

Strength endurance is the ability to be as strong as possible... for as long as possible.

This type of muscular strength is characterized by the ability to perform a strength movement repeatedly for an extended period of time without giving into fatigue or sacrificing form.

An effective physical training program should address the improvement of each type of muscular strength... Not just one type of strength at the expense of the others.

Bodybuilding type training focuses on building muscle mass... and improvement in performance and muscular strength is secondary.

This leads me to an interesting question... will your muscles get bigger by training all aspects of strength?

The answer is yes... they wil! l get ju st as big as they need to get to optimize performance!

Optimize muscular strength performance... don't Maximize muscle mass.

After all, it is always better to be stronger than you appear... than to appear stronger than you are!

One final note...

You must always keep in mind that muscular strength training is only one of many components of a well balanced physical fitness training program.

You should strive to optimize your muscular strength in conjunction with the other physical abilities... Not maximize your strength at the expense of them.

After all, meeting the challenges of sport, work and life with excellence is done through the combination and seamless flow from one physical ability to another... Not by relying on one physical skill at the expense of all the others.

"Doc... I've Got Severe Pain Between My Shoulder Blades What's Causing It?"

There are many causes of pain in the shoulder blades. Pain between the shoulder blades can occur as a result of mundane problems such as working at the computer too long without a break. Some causes though are serious and must be addressed immediately.

Here are some them:

Gall Bladder Pain

Sporadic pains in the middle of the upper abdomen, or just below the ribs on the right side are felt. The pain may spread to the right shoulder or between the shoulder blades. The pain can be accompanied by nausea and vomiting and sometimes excessive gas. The attack can last from a few minutes to two to three hours before getting better. The frequency and severity of attacks is very variable. Attacks can be triggered by eating fatty foods such as chocolate, cheese or pastry. It can be difficult to distinguish the pain from other diseases, such as: gastric ulcer, back problems, heart pains, pneumonia and kidney stones.

Neck source from arthritis or disc disease

This is a general pain located in the neck area and may be associated with stiffness in the neck muscles. The pain may radiate down to the shoulder or between the shoulder blades. It may also radiate out into the arm, the hand, or up into the head, causing a one-sided or double-sided headache. The muscles in the neck are tense, sore and feel hard to the touch. Acute pain can give rise to abnormal neck posture in which the head is forced to turn to one side; this condition is known as torticollis. The pain at the base of the skull may be accompanied by a feeling of weakness in the shoulders and arms. There may be a prickly or tingling sensation in the arms and fingers.

Angina Pectoris

Angina pectoris derives from Latin and translates as 'tight chest'. It feels like a heavy, crushing pain or a constricting feeling in the center of the chest behind the breast bone (sternum) or on the left side of the front of the chest. The pain can radiate out to either one or both arms, more often the left. It can be experienced in the! throat, jaw, the stomach and, more rarely, between the shoulder blades.

Angina is often brought on by:

? physical exercise
? psychological stress
? extreme cold
? a heavy meal.

Once these trigger factors stop, the pain generally ends quickly, usually within 2 to 10 minutes.

Liver Cancer

Liver cancer, an abnormal cell growth in the liver presents in two ways:

? Primary cancer means that the cancer started in the liver
? Secondary cancer of the liver occurs when a cancer starts someplace else and spreads to the liver.

The early warning signs of liver cancer:

A hard lump in the abdomen, below the rib cage on the right side.
Discomfort in the upper abdomen on the right side.
Pain around the right shoulder blade, or pain between the shoulder blades.
Yellowish skin color (jaundice)
Abdominal swelling causing a feeling of fullness

Esophageal Cancer

Esophageal cancer appears as a tumor, or an abnormal growth of cells in the esophagus. The esophagus is the food passageway that connects the throat to the stomach.

Esophageal cancer usually does not cause any symptoms until the cancer has advanced to a stage that is too late for effective treatment. The main symptom is difficulty in swallowing food. There is a frequent sensation of food getting stuck in the throat or chest.

Signs of advanced esophageal cancer include:

Pain when swallowing.
Pain in the throat or back, behind the breastbone or pain between the shoulder blades.
Decreased appetite and weight loss.
Hiccups with the feeling of food getting stuck in the throat or chest.
Vomiting and coughing up blood.

Aortic dissection

When the aorta, the major artery leading from the heart, tears, there can be sudden sharp pain in the spine between the shoulder blades. This is an obvious surgical emergency.

How to Stay Healthy this Winter

As fall turns to winter, cold and flu season moves into full swing. Last year was a record year for colds and flu and this year health officials predict it will be even worse. We must take precautions so the cold and flu season doesn?t catch us off guard.

High Risk Individuals

Though anyone can come down with a cold or the flu, there are certain individuals who are at high risk. These include:

*Senior citizens.
*Pregnant women.
*Diabetics.
*Heart patients.
*Toddlers.
*Those with chronic diseases or those who are receiving chemo therapy or radiation treatments.
*Children with disabilities or chronic diseases.
*Those with compromised immune systems such as HIV or AIDS patients.

If you are an individual who is in this high risk bracket, talk to your family physician or health care professional to determine if you should have a flu shot.

If you aren?t in this high risk category, there are a few things you can do to reduce the chance of coming down with a cold or the flu.

Hand Washing

If you want to ward off colds and the flue, wash your hands frequently throughout the day. To wash your hands thoroughly, wet them with warm, not hot, water. Apply a generous amount of soap and massage it into your hands and around fingertips and fingernails for thirty seconds. Clean with soap all the way up your forearms to your elbows. Rinse thoroughly, being certain not to leave any soap residue. Dry your hands well. If you?re in a public washroom, wash your hands in the same manner as described above and dry them with a paper towel. Use the paper towel to shut off the tap and then to open the washroom door. Toss the paper towel into the garbage receptacle as you leave.

Stay Well Hydrated

Be sure to drink plenty of fluids to keep your body well hydrated. In summer, we tend to drink a lot because it is hot. It?s easy to neglect hydration when the weather turns cool. To keep your body well hydrated, drink eight to ten cups of fluid each ! day. Par t of your fluid intake should be water. Other sources of fluids include fruit and vegetable juices, milk, tea and coffee. Raw fruits and vegetables are also a source of fluid. Keeping your body well hydrated will flush out all toxins and help you to ward off colds and the flu.

Healthy Food Choices

Make healthy food choices. Humans tend to eat more in the winter months. Eat well balanced meals and be sure to include fish in your diet at least once a week. Fish provides the body with Omega oils that help to boost the immune system. Eat lots of fiber and cut back on sweets, snacks and fast food to ensure your diet includes important antioxidants that fight off colds and the flu.

Be Active

In winter the majority of people become less active. Don?t be a couch potato. If you dislike cold weather, create an exercise regime that you can participate in within the comfort of your home. If you need others to motivate you, consider joining the YM-YWCA or a local gym or recreation facility.

If you like cold weather, take the kids tobogganing, go cross country or downhill skiing, snowmobiling, ice skating or try snowshoeing. Winter sports can be lots of fun and they help us to ward off germs that cause colds and the flu.

If you eat a well balanced diet, wash your hands frequently and thoroughly, stay hydrated and get lots of exercise, you will stay in optimum health through the long winter months and won?t have to cope with a cold or the flu.

Does Shockwave Therapy Help Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis is the most common cause of heel pain. The plantar fascia is a broad ligament-like structure that extends from the heel bone to the base of the toes, acting like a thick rubber band on the bottom arch of the foot. With a few extra pounds on board, or with activities such as exercise, the plantar fascia can develop microtrauma at its insertion into the heel bone, or anywhere along its length.

This causes pain which can be quite severe at times. Women, large individuals, runners and anyone whose job requires a lot of walking or standing on hard surfaces are more likely to get the condition. It's usually most painful when an individual takes the first steps in the morning after getting out of bed, but the pain can recur after sitting for a while or at the onset of any activity. In severe cases, the individual simply cannot bear any weight on the foot.

There are many treatments for plantar fasciitis, including orthotics, splinting, ultra sound, weight-loss and cortisone injections. In many cases, however, these treatment options may not work. The newest treatment being touted on the market today is shockwave therapy. The typical cost of this therapy is between $6,000 and $7,000. The cost, combined with mixed reviews of the treatment's success rate, is causing controversy in some medical circles.

While this kind of therapy is advocated by Podiatrists as a helpful measure, Orthopedists looking at the same medical literature tend to interpret the data as requiring further proof. This area for debate makes shockwave treatment a perfect example of why it's important to leverage external review specialists to help determine the medical necessity and viability of new treatment options. Orthopedic specialists, like those offered through AllMed Healthcare Management, constantly review newly published medical science literature to assure that spending large sums on pain management is medically sound and the best treatment option for the cases in question.

Body Acne Questions & Answers

What Causes of Body Acne?

Body acne can range from the relatively harmless forms of acne mechanica to the rare, yet debilitating forms of acne fulminans.

Body acne can arise from series of acne triggers. For instance, excessive rubbing or constriction by clothing can cause acne mechanica. On the other hand, body acne can result from pores on the back getting clogged by sunscreens or hair products that dribble down onto the back.

Acne fulminans is a systemic acne disease with far reaching side effects. Triggers for acne fulminans are varied and could include a weak immune system or liver. This rare condition appears suddenly and predominantly affects young males with previous episodes of acne.

Acne lesions may appear on the face and other areas of the body. With acne fulminans, the patients body may be covered with inflamed nodules that can develop into painful ulcers.

People with acne fulimans can suffer from bone pain and various forms of arthritis. In some cases, acne treatments with isotretinoin may aggravate acne fulminans as explained by Dr. Guy Webster of Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia.

In a Skin and Allergy News article, advised that Dr. Webster patients most likely to have this type of response to isotretinoin are those with moderate or severe acne already on the trunk or severe nodular acne anywhere on the body.

How Can I Reduce My Chances of Getting Body Acne?

You can easily avoid acne mechanica by showering immediately after physical activity. Also, by paying attention to everyday clothing and how it rubs against the skin can reduce acne mechanica.

For instance, some women experience shoulder acne simply because when putting on their bra, the bra straps rub too forcefully against their skin. This is easily corrected by not allowing the elastic to pull the skin.

If your back feels excessively waxy, it?s most likely that residue from your hair agents have slid onto your skin. To prevent this form of pomade acne, wash your bac! k with a soap to remove the waxy build-up.

Will Acne Face Products Help?

In general, acne facial treatments are not strong enough for body acne conditions. The skin of the facial area is much more delicate than the skin covering the rest of the body.

Plus, over the counter medicines applied to the face are more readily absorbed than topical medicines applied to the body. That?s because the face has the greatest concentration of pores of any portion of the body.

Used consistently however, over the counter washes containing salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide will help remove the waxy build-up on the body that can provoke acne.

When Should I See a Doctor About Body Acne?

See your doctor if your body acne is painful and getting increasingly worse. Forms of body acne like acne fulimans can develop into debilitating ulcers if left untreated. Moreover, diseases like Crohn?s disease and bowel infections can accompany acne fulimans.

In the end, body acne can be avoided with giving more attention to what you do with your body. But when the acne formations get too painful, see a doctor to ensure that you are not experiencing any underlying diseases or health threats.

Is There Acne Treatment?

Acne treatment is something that many people seek out each year. Many of the cases of acne are those that are brought on during the teenage years. This type of acne can begin at the onset of puberty and will continue until the early 20?s. The severity of acne can range from minimal to severe. There is little knowledge of why it affects people in different ways. But, acne treatment can be used to help those who need it.

There are different types of acne treatment as well. For those who have severe cases of acne, there are several options to consider. The first thing that is done routinely is to find out what is causing the over production of oils in the skin. From there, there will be one of two types of treatments done.

In the first, the medications that will be given will help to turn off the production of the oils or at least minimize them. At the other end of the spectrum, these oils remain in pores throughout the skin and it becomes a breading ground for bacteria who just love the warm, wet environment to reproduce. In the second form of treatment for acne, the mediations taken will work to help fight the bacteria that are active. Most times, the medications will be oral medications but other times they are will be creams that are applied to the skin.

In any case, to get the acne treatment that you need, you should first see your dermatologist to determine your needs. You may need one or other types of medications. In some cases, treatment can be as simple as using a different type of soap to wash the face. Most of the time, you will need to take proper care of the skin to remove and keep bacteria away. And, you may need medication to stop your body from producing excessive amounts of oil. The combination is the best treatment for acne is some.

Control Panic Attacks Anxiety Attacks Anger?Ten Tips

You have read the plethora of articles and seen or heard pharmaceutical advertisements touting the miracle of controlling every emotional distress with tips, strategies and prescriptions. If these miracle tips, strategies and prescriptions work so well? Why then are so many people using the same tips, strategies and prescriptions and still have the issue?

The answer is simple: These tips, strategies and prescriptions treat symptoms. Modern psychotherapy/psychiatry treats symptoms because symptoms can be quantified and identified, or so it is claimed by traditional modern medical and psychiatric practices.

Emotional Pain is described in terms of the symptoms?Depression, Anger, Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Self-Esteem issues, Mood Swings, Compulsive Behavior, Chronic and Acute Fear, Self-Injury, Suicidal Thoughts, Shame, Guilt, Eating Disorders, or Addictions). Treating symptoms does not heal or solve the issues. Time, marriages, children, success, wealth, buying a bigger house, or faster car, changing jobs or relocating will not CURE it. The damage is sometimes very deep, pervasive and profound. It is a soul injury. The person has been robbed of his or her integrity, core identity and trust.

American Health Magazine reported the following findings from a recent study.

? Psychoanalysis: 38% recovery after 600 sessions
? Behavior Therapy: 72% recovery after 22 sessions
? Hypnotherapy: 93% recovery after 6 sessions

This study clearly points out?Hypnosis is more effective and works more quickly than traditional talk-therapy or psychoanalysis. In a hypnotic state, you are more receptive to new ideas and you can more effectively process the emotions linked to the experiences, which created pain, fear, sadness, anger, guilt, shame, humiliation and low self-esteem.

Hypnosis is a special form of communication to the subconscious mind where habits are established and memory is stored. Because the language of the subconscious mind is visual, the more detailed your ima! ge is of your goal, the faster your subconscious mind will create the changes you desire. Once your subconscious accepts a new idea, you automatically accept it at a conscious level.

Traditional mental health professionals ask: What is wrong with you? or What happened to you? Asking, What is wrong with you? or What happened to you? implies blame, sickness and fault. Asking, What did you experience growing up??allows the person to begin the process of discovering the source of their pain and healing the wounds.

Traditional psychotherapy/psychoanalysis neglects the fact that we feel, sense, and experience global political mass consciousness, as well as our individual consciousness, like never before. A Mind, Body, Spirit approach addresses all three, therefore opening the door to true balance and healing.

In Mind, Body, Spirit healing, the Facilitator assists the person to connect via hypnosis with the three major parts of themselves?mind, body, spirit, and to go back to the inner child, or child of the inner light. All things came from light, so internally we are all light, no matter what camouflage (depression, anxiety, panic attacks, anger, shame, guilt, sadness, eating disorders, substance abuse, etc.) we have adopted to keep our inner child safe. We ourselves often do not know any of this consciously, but when you learn it, and consciously give this trilogy our empowerment to act in our lives, amazing healing occurs. This is true emotional and spiritual healing.

I use the ?word,? heal, because it has a definitive definition for most people. When we use the word healing it implies there is something wrong. I believe healing is much more. The soul knows its sole purpose for being here is for emotional and spiritual growth?a.k.a. transformation. Healing to me is evolving and optimizing into our health and into who we really are. I believe that Mind, Body, Spirit healing is restructuring our energy that has become distorted, misaligned or suppressed. My definition of healing is evolution b! eyond ju st losing some ability and regaining it.

When we truly ask for Mind, Body, Spirit healing we are asking about the ?cause,? of our pain not the symptoms we are experiencing. When I work with someone, I am not treating, I am not giving therapy, I am only conscious of symptoms because the symptoms are clues to what needs to be transformed. Using the unconscious mind the person is guided to create their unique transformation process to ultimately eliminate (heal) the cause of the symptoms.

Discovering the mental, physical, emotional, spiritual aspect of the person's concerns takes approximately an hour and a half, sometimes two hours. This process can be done in one or two sessions. However, simultaneously there is a 'healing' component. So, when the person leaves the first session the transformation process has begun.

What Can Honey Do To You?

If you feel exhausted and want something fresh to release all your fatigue, why don't you take a teaspoonful of honey and add to your tea, then drink it. You are going to feel better then.

It's not difficult to find honey as it is easy to get and available everywhere in the market. In fact, honey has been a part of the commodity in the ancient century. They used honey for different purposes such as for health treatment, food and beverage, and other useful matters.

Nobody has doubts the usefulness of this sweet viscous fluid produced by bees. Honey makes a good alternative to sugar in food and beverages.

Honey is a source of nutrition. It contains many enzymes, vitamins, minerals and amino acids, as well as fructose, glucose, and water.

In addition, honey also contains antioxidants that can fight free radical from human body. Free radical are molecules that attack human healthy cells.

Current research on honey has shown its beneficial as an antimicrobial agent that can treat different kinds of ailments. The most common use of honey as an antimicrobial agent is to treat wounds, burns and skin ulcers.

Honey can also help seasonal pollen allergies. Consuming a teaspoonful of honey a day for a few months can boost your immune before the allergy season (mostly during autumn) comes.

Thanks to the bees, people can taste the sweetness of honey and take the benefits out of it to improve human's health.

Probably bees are the most helpful insect to human as they produce not only honey, but also something related to honey. Let's see what they are:

Royal Jelly - This is the most nutritious food for the queen bees throughout her life. Luckily, human can take out and consume some of it. Its tastes a little bit bitter, but has so many benefits. It's rich in vitamins, minerals, proteins, amino acid and antibiotic. It can enhance immunity; prevent arthritis and multiple sclerosis; treat asthma; slow down the signs of aging; stimulate hair growth etc.

Beeswax - ! It's a p roduct from the abdomen of the worker bees. Worker bees have some glands on the inner sides of the ventral shield or plate of each segment of the body. The beeswax is useful to make lipstick, capsule, balm, body lotion, candles or as a wood polish or floor polish.

Bee Pollen -- It's the male seed of a flower blossom that is gathered by the bees. Whoever consumes bee pollen may have more vitality in life. Most athletes like bee pollen because it sustains and enhances their quality performances. For ordinary people, bee pollen can stimulate organs and glands, rejuvenates human body, and brings about a longer life span. As you can see, all the products made by the bees are beneficial for our health. Why don't you try them for your health sake.

Acne Care

Taking proper care of acne is very important, so that the acne does not become a serious problem.

Clean your face often:

It is advised to clean your face often by using cleansers. Washing your face at least three times a day is recommended, but if you exercise, go for jogging, work in a factory environment etc then you need to wash your face after you complete that job.

Don?t touch the skin quite often:

Most of the people who have acne keep on touching, squeezing or rubbing the acne, which could leave marks on the skin. It is advised not to touch the skin often.

Shaving properly:

While shaving you should take care the acne portion is not cut. If you have acne in the beard area, it is advised to trim your beard rather than to shave with sharp blades and cut the acne, which could lead to blemishes. Shave only when it is necessary.

Avoid Sun:

If you use acne creams or lotions then it is advised not to go in the sun as you could get sunburn. Sunburn could leave a blemish on the skin and overexposure could even lead to skin allergy.

Using cosmetics:

You have to choose the cosmetics very carefully when you have acne. The cosmetic products should be noncomedogenic, which means it won?t close your pores. Even using noncomedogenic products could make the acne bad.

Atopic Eczema

The word ?atopic? refers to a hereditary tendency to experience immediate allergic reactions because of the presence of an antibody on the skin or in the bloodstream. An atopic allergy is a form of allergy that afflicts sufferers with a genetic predisposition to be hypersensitive to certain allergens. Atopic eczema (or dermatitis as it is often called) is a form of eczema that occurs in those who have a genetic predisposition or hereditary tendency to develop such a condition. It is important to be clear that the tendency to develop atopic eczema is an inherited condition, it is not a disease that is catching ? it cannot be passed on to others through contact. In addition to the hereditary factor it is thought that modern environments and diet are causing an increase in the number of eczema cases reported every year.

Atopic eczema is an unbearably itchy skin condition that frequently becomes infected through lacerations self inflicted by the sufferer through scratching. It can occur anywhere on the body but the most common sites are on the insides of the elbows, the backs of the knees, the face, ears and scalp. Those who suffer from atopic eczema are also more likely develop hay fever or asthma; they are ?atopic individuals?. To make an accurate diagnosis the doctor will want to know about family history of eczema, hay fever and asthma. He or she will want to know whether the patient has been exposed to any chemicals to rule out contact dermatitis. As there is no single test for atopic eczema it will often be a case of ruling out other possible conditions before being left with that as the only remaining option. The doctor will be able to offer emollients, corticosteroids, antifungals, antihistamines and antibiotics as appropriate, but none of these will cure the eczema. The best that can be hoped for is a reduction in the symptoms. Those who have atopic eczema can do much to help themselves by avoiding polluted atmospheres; removing irritant chemicals from their homes; eliminating known food al! lergens from their diet and using prescription drugs as required. Some find it helpful to keep the skin moisturised by the use of oil baths and emollients ? others find this irritates the condition further. It is helpful if the skin can be kept moisturised in some way as this will help to prevent cracking and infection. If standard emollients can not be tolerated it is worth experimenting with other oils that can be massaged on to the skin.

It is almost certainly better to avoid all of the nut oils as nuts are a known allergen to many people but seed oils can be used safely. Flax seed oil, containing essential fatty acids, has been used with some success in trials. As well as going some way to hydrate the skin it also has healing properties ? the essential fatty acids have anti-inflammatory properties that soothe the skin and reduce irritation. There are many causes of atopic eczema and for this reason there are many remedies that may help. It is important to experiment to find what works for each individual.

Natural Acid Reflux Remedies

If you are one of the many sufferers of acid reflux disease, then you know what its like to feel your throat burn, and taste that god awful taste in the back of your mouth. The feeling of your stomach acid creeping up your esophagus and sometimes flowing into your mouth can practically drive a person into a hunger strike. I know many people who have cut almost everything out of their diet because of acid reflux and there quality of life has decreased drastically.

Of course there is many cures, prescription, over the counter or natural for acid reflux, but every person is different in the sense that some or all remedies might not work, or loose there effectiveness after many uses. The worse part is while laying in bed, the condition worsens because of gravity and the victim of acid reflux finds it almost impossible to fall asleep, and often spends many nights spitting up stomach bile, and popping Tums after Tums and pepcid AC after pill, and trying remedy after remedy. While the conventional treatments work for some people, they do not work for all. This brings me to the part where i get to let you in on a all natural cure for acid reflux. It actually works! 80% of people who tried it, said it worked like magic.

Most acid indigestion or heartburn remedies work by neutralizing the acid in your stomach with a strong base. Unlike most remedies, this natural cure works the complete opposite way and actually fights acid with acid. What is it? Apple Cider Vinegar! Sounds like B.S. doesn't it? In fact, the remedy has been around for many years, dating back to 1900 when people used to take a swig of vinegar to relieve the acid problem. Its up to you to try it, and see if it works. The directions are simple and are as followed. Drink one small glass of apple cider vinegar mixed with a bit of water, when you feel your acid indigestion creeping up. Just to warn you all, it will make it worse momentarily, but then it should completely get rid of the acid condition. I hope this helps you acid reflux suf! ferers o ut there. One more thing before i leave, i thought i should mention 3 tips to keeping your acid indigestion under control.

1.Try a high protein/low carb diet.

2.Dont eat foods late at night

3.Dont eat pastry.

Good luck!

Cholesterol Management

Cholesterol management is very important in reducing your risk for heart disease and stroke. Eating a diet that is low in saturated fat and cholesterol is one way to reduce your risk for these diseases. Exercise is also an important factor. Exercise helps increase your HDL (good cholesterol). Not smoking can also improve your cholesterol.

Bad Cholesterol Level

Your total cholesterol should be below 200 mg/dL. Between 200 and 239 mg/dL is considered borderline high, and a total cholesterol of 240 mg/dL and above is considered high.

The general guidelines for optimal lipid levels are below. However, if you have other risk factors, such as previous heart attack, diabetes, smoking, high blood pressure, etc., your target level may vary. Always follow the advice and guidelines set by your physician.

LDL (bad cholesterol) should be below 100 mg/dL. An LDL of 160-189 mg/dL is considered high and an LDL of 190 mg/dL and above is very high.

HDL (good cholesterol) should be greater than 40 mg/dL, with optimal range being 60 mg/dL and above.

Triglyceride level should be below 150 mg/dL. A triglyceride level over 200 mg/dL is high and a level over 500 mg/dL is considered very high.

Food high in cholesterol

You should limit your total cholesterol intake to less than 300 mg per day (less than 200 mg per day if you have heart disease). Animal foods, such as meat, fish, poultry, butter, cheese, egg yolks and whole-milk dairy products, are high in cholesterol. While eggs and shellfish are low in saturated fat, they are major sources of cholesterol. Egg whites, however, do not have any cholesterol.

Food that lowers cholesterol

Soluble fiber can help lower cholesterol. Some foods high in soluble fiber are oat bran, rice bran, barley, oatmeal, strawberries, apples, beans and peas. Soy proteins are also a good source for reducing cholesterol and soy may also raise your HDL level.

Foods high in Omega-3s, such as cold water fish like salmon and t! una, can help lower your level of triglycerides. Flaxseed is another good source for Omega-3s.

Garlic and hawthorn are natural botanicals that can help lower cholesterol.

If you eat dairy products, try fat-free milk and cheeses, which do not contain cholesterol. Bake, broil, or grill foods instead of frying. Use oils that are low in saturated fat, such as olive oil.

Causes Of Acne and New Treatment Approaches

The causes of acne are not fully understood, but dermatologists have certainly evolved in their knowledge and treatment approaches. During the process, many things that were believed to be associated with acne have either been ruled out, or modified with a deeper understanding.

Acne can occur at any time during a person's life. Whilst many people suffer acne during teenage years, not having acne then does not mean it may not develop as an adult. However, genetics does play a role. So if someone in your family has acne, there is a greater chance of developing it.

But acne is not contagious. During teenage years, for women who are menstruating, and women going through menopause, there are hormonal changes that are associated with acne.

Acne sufferers have oil producing glands that are more sensitive to regular levels of the hormone testosterone in their blood. Sometimes too much testosterone is produced. Women have small amounts of testosterone also, and for some women, adrenal or ovarian disease is an underlying cause of acne which causes excess production of these male hormones.

Testosterone, or the body's heightened responsiveness to it, causes the oil glands to produce more oil than they should. Here, other factors such as excess shedding of the dead skin cells lining the hair follicle, a narrowing of the hair follicles, and irregular clumping of the cells within the hair follicles, come into play. The end result is that the follicles become clogged with dead skin cells and oil, and the opening of the follicle is blocked. This is called a comedone.

This environment favors the multiplication of the acne bacteria, Propionibacterium acnes. This bacteria lives on the skin and is normally harmless. But the oil and dead cells in the clogged pore are like food to it, and the breakdown products of this bacteria's mealtime is irritating to the skin. If the bacteria multiply to the extent that the follicle wall breaks open, lesions can develop.

The role of inflammation in a! cne is b eing studied to give new insights into how to approach acne treatment. The inflammatory process within the skin can attract molecules that break down the collagen in the skin. This can lead to permanent damage - scarring. A research team at the University of Michigan is looking at testing treatments that reduce the intensity of the immune system's response to the effects of the 'acne invasion'. By reducing the level of inflammation, they hope to prevent acne scarring.

High Blood Pressure During Exercise

A study from Johns Hopkins shows that people who develop very high blood pressure during exercise are the ones most likely to develop high blood pressure in later years (American Journal of Hypertension, April 2004.) These people have arteries that do not expand as much as normal arteries when blood is pumped to them.

When your heart beats, it squeezes blood from inside its chambers to the large arteries. This sudden bolus of blood causes normal arteries to expand like balloons do when they fill with air. The walls of arteries have sensors that allow arteries to expand with each pulse of blood. If the arteries do not expand enough when blood enters them, blood pressure can rise very high. Blood pressure is determined by the force of the heart's contraction times the resistance in the blood vessels. Normal blood pressure is 120 when the heart contracts and 80 when it relaxes. During exercise, the heart beats with increased force to raise blood pressure. It is normal for blood pressure to rise up to 200 over 80 during running, and to 300 over 200 while doing a leg press with very heavy weights.

People with normal resting blood pressures who develop very high blood pressure during exercise are the ones most likely to develop high blood pressure later on. If your blood pressure rises much above 200 during running, you are at increased risk for developing high blood pressure.

Ninety percent of Americans will develop high blood pressure, which increases risk for heart attacks, strokes, kidney damage and sudden death. High blood pressure usually occurs in people who have normal blood pressures when they were young. If you have an exaggerated blood pressure rise during exercise, you should go on a heart attack prevention program that includes a diet that is high in plants and low in saturated fats and refined carbohydrates, regular exercise, losing weight if you are overweight, not smoking, and avoiding stimulants and drugs that raise blood pressure.

How Is Mesothelioma Treated?

Most people who develop mesothelioma have worked on jobs where they inhaled asbestos particles. However, they may have been been exposed to asbestos dust and fibre in other ways. This could include working with asbestos or by home renovation using asbestos cement products or even by washing the clothes of a family member who worked with asbestos. The resulting disease is rare form of cancer in which malignant (cancerous) cells are found in the mesothelium, a protective sac that covers most of the body's internal organs.

Mesothelioma occurs more often in men than in women and risk increases with age, but this disease can appear in either men or women at any age. About 2,000 new cases of mesothelioma are diagnosed in the United States each year. Although reported incidence rates have increased in the past 20 years, mesothelioma is still a relatively rare cancer.

There are various procedures used for the treatment of mesothelioma. The type of treatment depends on the location of the cancer, the stage of the disease, and the patient's age and general health.

A common treatment of the disease is by means of surgery by the removal of part of the lining of the chest or abdomen and some of the tissue around it. For cancer of the pleura, a lung may be removed in an operation called a pneumonectomy. Sometimes part of the diaphragm, the muscle below the lungs that helps with breathing, is also removed.

Another method is Radiation therapy, also called radiotherapy. This involves the use of high-energy rays to kill cancer cells and shrink tumors. Radiation therapy affects the cancer cells only in the treated area. The radiation may come from a machine or from putting materials that produce radiation through thin plastic tubes into the area where the cancer cells are found .

Anticancer drugs can be used to kill cancer cells throughout the body. This is known as chemotherapy and involves the administration of the drugs by injection into a vein (intravenous, or IV). Currently, doctors ar! e also s tudying the effectiveness of putting chemotherapy directly into the chest or abdomen.

Because mesothelioma is very hard to control, the U.S. National Cancer Institute (NCI) is sponsoring clinical trials that are designed to find new treatments and better ways to use current treatments.
